Glossy Black Reserve in Reedy Creek now has an additional 4kms of Mountain bike trails and how great does this look for older kids to explore! The new trail, named Drop Bear is an action-packed descending trail full of berms, rollers and jumps.
Glossy Black reserve is a City of Gold Coast managed natural area. It has a small network of beginner MTB trails. There is also a network of fire trails within the reserve that are used by walkers and trail runners. Access is from either the end of Barden Ridge Road or corner of Kingscrest Drive. Parking is limited in this residential area so riding to the entry points is suggested. All MTB trails within the reserve are one-way.
The City of Gold Coast contracted TrailScapes to construct 3 Mountain bike trails that can be linked together and form a 5km loop. These beginner (Green IMBA rating) and intermediate (Blue IMBA rating) trails incorporates easy Technical Trail Features (TTFs) such as rock drops, berms, optional jump lines, etc. The trails are called Jumpin Ant Hill, Lazy Lizard and Rabbits Run.
The gentle climb comprises of stone wall switchbacks, and offers riders of all abilities a way to get up the hill.
