Every now and then you find a kid friendly café that ticks all the boxes and this place is one of them. Stones Throw can be found in Currumbin Waters just past the Currumbin RSL. At first glance, this café looks like many others until you go around the side and out the back.
This FENCED green oasis is complete with a big deck overlooking grass, veggie gardens, paths and a cubby caravan and sand pit. You can sit at one of the many tables that are covered in shady trees or big umbrellas and watch your little ones play or enjoy being outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine.
Highchairs are available and there is parking right out the front either on Station Road or Currumbin Creek Road. Stones Throw offers up breakfast, brunch and lunch options with really delicious sounding options you might not expect to see. Saag Aloo Hash, Bibimbap, Sticky Pork Tacos as well as your regular family favourites eggs on toast, brekkie burritos and acai bowls. There’s gluten free and vegetarian options and for the kids there’s nutella pancakes, french toast and a kids platter so there’s half a chance they’ll stay out of yours! They also serve up great Fonzie Abbott coffee (tick, tick, tick, tick, tick).
It is pram friendly, pooch friendly, has toilets and takeaway is available ( just in case brekky was so good you need to order lunch too).
They are open 7 days a week from 7am – 2pm. Bring a hat because in summer it can get warm out in the backyard. There are menu options as well as treats in the front cabinet plus coffee, milk shakes and juices.
Stones Throw passes the kid friendly test because…..
The kids are entertained long enough for you to drink a hot coffee and enjoy some food.
