Mindfulness Meditation Teens & Pre-teens
March 27 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEST
An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Friday, repeating until April 24, 2020
For Teens & Pre-Teens 🍂
Both adults and children of all ages can benefit from Mindfulness, which essentially, is the simple practice of bringing a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment in a relaxed non-judgmental manner.
And as children develop through adolescence to become teenagers, life grows ever more complicated. Developing relationships, navigating school, digital influence with social media, and exercising independence — the very stuff of growing up — naturally creates stressful situations for every child.
At each developmental stage, mindfulness can be a useful tool for decreasing anxiety and promoting happiness.
Being mindful helps our kids in just about every part of life and learning how to be mindful when you’re young gives you a chance to get really good at it and use it always.
When you practice mindfulness, you’re training your attention. Research shows that practicing mindfulness can improve attention for just about everybody — including people with ADHD, or who have trouble paying attention and building concentration.
It’s about being more aware as you live and experience each moment – as the moment happens, and it can be a particularly useful way of connecting teens to their emotional worlds and allowing them to learn to navigate intelligently through the arraying confusion of emotional experiences.
By introducing meditation and mindfulness at an early age, not only can we build on this and help nurture their mind development, but we are also making meditation simple and accessible.
