It’s officially Spring tomorrow! Spring in our household equals lots of smoothies for breakfast and the leftovers we use to make ice creams to enjoy for afternoon tea (or the occasional breakfast ‘treat’!). Here are a few of our favourite smoothie recipes – if you manage to have any leftover, pour them into your individual ice cream moulds and leave them in the freezer until hard.

Banana and Honey Smoothie

  • 3 (use 4 if small) bananas
  • 2 – 3 cups of milk (we use almond – use your milk of choice)
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1.5 Tbsp honey

Blend all ingredients on high until smooth

Blueberry Smoothie

  • Handful of blueberries (we probably use a cup of frozen blueberries – mixed berries work well too)
  • 2 bananas
  • 3 cups of water (you can use coconut water – my boys aren’t fans though)
  • 2 Tbsp greek yoghurt
  • 1 Tbsp honey

Blend all ingredients on high until smooth

Chocolate Smoothie

  • 3 bananas
  • 3 cups of milk (we use almond – use your milk of choice)
  • half an avocado
  • 2 Tbsp cacao
  • 1 Tbsp honey

Blend all ingredients on high until smooth

*smoothies are really easy to mix and change the ingredients and quantities to suit your taste – enjoy experimenting
